UNIPD virtual itineraries: a virtual journey through history, art, and archaeology

The virtual itineraries of the Museum of Archaeological Sciences and Art, created on the celebrations for the 800th anniversary of the foundation of the University of Padua, offers the opportunity to digitally explore its collections through thematic paths. From the artifacts of ancient Roman Padua to the precious Renaissance collections, each itinerary tells stories of art, archaeology, and science, allowing you to immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage preserved by the Museum. Roman Padua in the Museum collections

Esplora i reperti dell’antica Patavium conservati nel Museo, tra cui la statua di una offerente, il pavimento di una domus romana e il modellino del Ponte di San Lorenzo. Educational collections of the Museum

A path dedicated to students and people interested in Archaeology who wish to deepen their knowledge of ancient findings thanks to our typological and chronological exhibitions. Artifacts such as bronze statuettes, domestic tools and objects of daily use offer a cross-section of life in antiquity.

An itinerary that connects three museums of the University, exploring the collections of Antonio Vallisneri and Giovanni Poleni. Art and Antiquity in Padua in the Sixteenth Century: The Mantova Benavides Collection

This path leads to the discovery of the Mantova Benavides collection, one of the few Renaissance collections from Padua still preserved. Among the works exhibited: Greek sculptures, ancient vases and Renaissance casts that testify the taste of collecting of that time.

The archaeological collections of the University of Padua

An itinerary that highlights the links between the University of Padua and its rich archaeological heritage, preserved at the Museum of Archaeological Sciences and Art and the Museum of Anthropology. This virtual path explores the history of both the collections, which include artifacts from Italian, European and African sites, and investigates their origins, starting from university teaching and up to the acquisitions coming from excavations, research and private collections, such as that of Eugenio Neumann from Trieste. Through a selection of significant artifacts, the itinerary offers an overview of the wide geographical distribution and cultural value of these materials.
